08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Tai continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a big future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 86 mph. Fastball shows a range of 82-86 mph with life. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, power potential is now well above average through an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and utilizes all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. At the event, he was 4 for 6 with a 2B. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft / sure and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

03/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Tai is a 2022 RHP/3B. Medium frame thick build with plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher who stays tall and works downhill as he attacks hitters. FB was up to 77mph with some running action that he threw for strikes. Tight break on CB as his second pitch with 11/5 sweeping action. Flashes a changeup with FB arm speed and good run to RHH. Secondary 3B has developing actions. Tries to create some rhythm through the ball with a clean transfer. Some present arm strength that projects with accurate and online throws. Right-handed hitter with an upright and open stance. Simple load with short stride and balanced stance into contact. Showed ability to hit to balls to all fields during his BP round. Has a feel for the barrel who flashed some power potential when he got the barrel turned. Exit velocity of 81mph. 2-way player with skillsets to play at the next level with continued growth and development.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
