07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Talan is a 2027 1B/RHP prospect who recently showcased his skills at the National World Series at the JRTC. At first, he gets in a relaxed, athletic position pre-pitch and shows off efficient footwork and movements. He gets a good first step and shows off quick movements to the glove side. He gets in an athletic, low fielding position and makes on-time movements to the ball with his hands. He has a quick exchange and creates momentum to his targets with his throws. He makes accurate throws with a quick, short arm action and recorded a raw velo of 74 MPH. At the plate, he starts in a narrow stance with low hands. He shows off aggressive movements to the baseball with quick hands. He showed some pop to the pull side and recorded an exit velo of 75 MPH, greatly improving on his previous readings. He reached base in 5 of 7 plate appearances in game action with a double, single, and three walks. On the mound, he throws from a low 3/4 slot that is tough on right handed hitters and shows good command of the strike zone with his four offerings. He's very confident in his movements, getting on-time separation with a clean arm action back. He has a controlled landing and finishes with his chest over his knee. His FB has some arm side run and he keeps it around the plate consistently. His BB has some sweep to it. He fired 18 of 22 pitches for a strike and punched out four hitters in game action. Overall, Talan is an exciting prospect that should continue to develop nicely as he enters his freshman year of high school this fall!
