06/18/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Tanner is a very coachable player who has a willingness to learn. He brings a positive attitude to the field everyday and makes those around him better. Behind the dish, he sits in well with athletic actions and presents a low/soft target. He does a nice job of moving laterally and bodying up pitches in the dirt, keeping the ball in front. Transfer is clean as he works in-line toward 2B - pop times now as low as 2.13. As a hitter - Carle displays a balanced setup with simple/quiet actions. He has a good feel with barrel control, squaring the ball up consistently. Working to swing on a more direct path will help to improve whip/bat speed which will result in even more power. Tanner is a solid prospect who will make an impact as he enters his junior year.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Tanner is a R/R catcher who showed very well during his time at the Recruiting Classic. With the bat, this righty steps into the box with a purpose. He sees pitches into the zone and waits for his pitch (drew 3 walks). Swing is level/repeatable as he connects with strength. He battled at the plate and proved to be a tough out (collecting 5 hits, 4 singles and a double). Behind the plate, Tanner sits in well with athletic actions and sway. He gains ground and works in-line toward 2B on throws down - pop times now at 2.19. Times will continue to drop as he works to quicken his transfer/exchange. Tanner is a well-rounded player who will make things happen when he steps onto the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
