On the mound he has a clean leg lift and works with good direction down the mound. He stays tall on the backside and gets his chest to his glove. A 3-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with his FB that sat 72-73mph with some movement. In the infield he has a good prep step, with quick feet, and he shows good lateral range. He works to center the baseball, with hands out front, and ability to pick out hops. He made on-line throws from multiple arm slots with an arm velocity up to 81mph across diamond. A right-handed hitter he hits from an upright and open stance. Good hip turn enables him to hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph during his round of BP. With another year of development, we foresee Tanner having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
