07/08/2024 - National Showcase - Los Angeles, CA Tanner is an athletic 2025 grad out of Palos Verdes High School. His 40 yard dash came in at well above-average at 4.87 seconds with his 60 sitting at 7.00 seconds on the nose. With an astounding standing broad jump at 9'0", leg strength is evident. Arm strength on flat ground registered 82mph with carry. Defensively, he does a solid job of creating angles to the ball, getting his feet underneath himself and coming through the baseball in an explosive fashion. On the mound, he showed us a 3 pitch mix of fastball, slider and sinker. Fastball topped at 74mph with signs of command. Slider sat 58-60mph with sweeping action. Sinker clocked 71-72mph with run and sink present. He does a solid job of getting over his frontside with proper extension while arm shows looseness. At the plate, Tanner's exit velocity off the tee topped at 82mph. During his offensive display, he showed a direct swing path, used the whole field and found the barrel on a consistent basis. With one year of high school remaining, we see Tanner taking his craft off to the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
