06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Tanner is a prospect on the diamond and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 83 mph. Fastball showed a range of 79-83 mph with heavy action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is outstanding as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Mental makeup is a plus as he is extremely coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

04/09/2017 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Tanner is a lean, lanky RHP/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work to and through an aggressive swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He is aggressive and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is tremendous as he utilizes his foot speed to cover a lot of ground. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 81-82 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late / sharp break and shows as a quality pitch. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight tailing action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Tanner has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
