01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Tanner is a strong and athletic SS/RHP that shows advanced actions on the field. At SS, Tanner shows athletic actions getting a +1st step to the ball showing agile range to the glove and back hand sides. He fields the ball athletically and low in a square stance with his glove out in front with soft hands. His exchanges are clean and shows the ability to get rid of the ball with a short and quick arm action. He shows the ability to deliver the ball around the diamond with multiple arm slots. At the plate, Tanner sets up in a square stance with comfortable hands showing a good rhythm as he gets his foot down on-time. He fires his lower half through showing a smooth and fast swing. He makes consistent contact making strong contact with the most pop to the pull side. On the mound, Tanner goes right after hitters with just his FB as he fills up the zone. Pitching, Tanner starts with simple movements getting a relaxed knee lift as he works down the mound. He keeps his stride in line finishing with full rotation as he delivers the pitch. Tanner shows that he will continue to develop and has a high ceiling to grow his game.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Tanner is an athletic and projectable SS/RHP that showed well in Pirate City. At SS, Tanner shows athletic actions with active feet and agile range to the glove and back hand side. He gets into an athletic fielding position presenting his glove and making clean exchanges. As he works towards his target, he gets rid of the ball with a short arm action making strong and accurate throws around the diamond. At the plate Tanner sets up in an open stance with high and loose hands with a simple load. His stride is short, getting his foot down on time as he fires his lower half through and getting the barrel on plane. He makes consistently hard contact with a line drive approach. Tanner shows the ability to become an excellent player as he continues to mature and get stronger.

04/07/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Germantown (Memphis), TN Tanner is a tall SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Tanner shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He makes the routine plays and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He shows a smooth rhythm and takes a direct swing, driving the ball into the gaps. On the mound, Tanner gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a live arm and finishes square to his target. Tanner shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph with arm side run and sinking action. Changeup sits from 65-67mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
