12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Tanner is a class of 2028 SS/RHP prospect. In the field, he shows the ability to create angles and make accurate throws across the diamond. He plays with energy and is very coachable. At the plate, he does a good job keeping hands back. Works his lower ½ thru the baseball. Also showed a middle approach. On the mound, he showed simple and repeatable mechanics. Attacked the zone and worked side to side. Fastball was his best pitch up to 61 MPH. Also shows a 11-5 shaped breaking ball and a changeup he can throw for strikes. Tanner is a talented player with a bright future.

12/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Chandler (Phoenix), AZ Tanner is a young, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Tanner has fluid/active feet, soft hands, and he fields low. He makes plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws accurately with carry across the diamond. If Tanner can attack more aggressively, and stay lower throughout, solid defense will get even better. On the mound, Tanner has good balance, on-time hand separation, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He has a controlled/repeatable delivery, lands with good direction toward the plate, and he throws strikes. Added arm strength, and not falling off can help improve mound effectiveness. Offensively, Tanner has an athletic stance, good balance, and a rhythmic swing. He has a direct barrel, he works it gap to gap, and he uses his lower body well.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
