04/25/2010 - College PREP - Cedar Hill, TX Tanner is a 6'2, 205 lb 3B. At 3B, Tanner exchanges from glove to throwing hand well. He knows how to feed the ball to 2B on double plays balls. He shows confidence and know-how in his backhand set up for ground balls. He is young, so he tends to bend for the baseball, as opposed to playing low, out and through the ball. His arm is rigid and needs looser action in his throws. Offensively, he presented a solid fundamental approach, displaying a direct hand path and good finish with proper extension. Would like to see more from the lower half of his body. Better use of the legs in his swing could increase batspeed and overall pop to all fields. Bat speed will also develop with age and body maturity. He is only a 2012 graduate, so he has plenty of time to work on all aspects of his game, both athletically and fundamentally.
