03/24/2024 - National Showcase - Gambrills, MD Taylor showed well at the event in Gambrills, MD. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. At SS, feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 64-65 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break, sitting 55-57. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/12/2024 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Sarasota Taylor is a 2025 SS/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Spring Training in Sarasota. At SS he shows athletic actions and closes distance on batted balls. He works from right to left and fields with hands out front. On the mound he has a clean arm stroke and tries to pitch ahead in the count. Does a good job of controlling the run game and fields his position. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 71mph with plus command, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. In 2 innings of work, Taylor punched out 3 hitters and induced soft contact. At the plate he hits from a tall stance. Gets knob to C and shows a good barrel path. In live game action he showed good awareness for the strike zone and drew 2 base on balls. He has a great attitude with a strong desire to be coached. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

08/03/2023 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament (HS) Taylor continues to shine with his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 64-66 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/20/2023 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Taylor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting potential has improved through a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half work well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At 2B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as attacks ball and but needs to play through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/17/2022 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (HS) Taylor is a 2025 2B who worked hard during the Baseball Factory Pro Select Training and Tournament. Medium frame slender build with some strength present. At the plate, he hits from upright and closed stance with low hand set. Has an inside-out path with an all fields approach. Made contact to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 64mph. At 2B, moves well to both sides, deeper funnel, hands work well, works through it well and stays directional. Made consistent throws to first base and was clocked up to 67mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see Taylor making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
