01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Taylor is an athletic catcher who showed as a prospect at the Preseason All American Rookie event. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.38 range with accuracy to his target. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He utilizes his lower half well and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. With 3 years to further develop, Taylor has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
