02/08/2009 - College PREP - Bradenton (Tampa), FL Terryton is a young two way player at SS and on the mound with a tall, thin frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature and fill out. Currently, he does project well at both positions. Foot speed is average and needs to get on a speed agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. He utilizes his feet well in taking proper angles in getting around, coming to get, and playing through with momentum to target. Hands and glove action are soft, clean, and solid in making all the plays. Backhand is solid, sure, and he is not afraid to use it. He shows off his athletic ability in his turns and feeds of the double play. Defensive abilities are near above average in the middle of the infield. Arm strength is near above average displaying carry and accuracy across the diamond. He would benefit by getting on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength and raise velocities. At the plate, hitting abilities are solid average with slightly above average power. Hands are quick, direct to the ball, generating bat speed. Swing path is level and shows a solid feel for the barrel. Power numbers will improve as he learns to load and transfer weight properly through the swing. On the mound, Daughtry shows a solid average fastball on a flat plane. Breaking ball is below average and needs work to be an effective pitch at the next level. With 2 years to further develop, Terryton has the makings to be solid player at the next level.
