09/14/2014 - College PREP - Kansas City, KS Thatcher is a skilled OF who makes things happen. Speed (6.99) and a strong arm (83 mph) - Horak tracks down balls in the gap and fires throws with carry. He moves fluidly behind the ball and plays through it toward his target. With the stick, he shows a relaxed approach with fluid rhythm. Bat path is level as he connects with strength and extends well through the hitting zone. This athletic outfielder possesses the tools that will translate well at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
