06/10/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Theo continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond, especially on the mound where he projects best. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 91 mph. Fastball showed range of 87-91 mph with arm side run and sink. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He improved his foot speed and now is an excellent runner as indicated by his 60 time of 6.86. Defensively at 2B, he shows active prep with fluid actions. He works around the GB and through it as he gains ground toward 1B. Exchange is clean with strong throws. Backhand is smooth with a quick release. At the plate, hitting / power potential are now outstanding. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone (89 mph exit velocity) as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps. Theo has a big upside on the bump and will get looks from the pro scouts and top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Theo is a solid, strong SS/RHP with a bright future ahead on the diamond. On the mound, arm action is loose, free, and quick. Arm strength is well above average as indicated by his top velocity of 86 mph. Fastball shows a range of 83-86 mph on a downhill plane with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. At SS, feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally, displaying range and soft / sure hands. At the plate he shows best an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity), generating bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. With his baseball tools and two years to further develop, Theo will get looks from the top collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
