12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory Holiday Classic at Pirate City Thomas is a talented freshman from Lino Lakes, MN, who plays shortstop and is a right-handed pitcher. He worked hard to refine his skills at the Baseball Factory Pirate City camp and is already showing strong potential. At the plate, Thomas is a right-handed hitter who starts in a wide, square stance with loose hands, displaying good balance and on-time rhythm. He uses a strong lower half to generate power and reach base three times in live game action, recording two singles and a walk. As a shortstop, he fields from a square position, picks out hops well, and works his hands out front for clean, accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, Thomas works exclusively from the stretch, picking up his target with confidence. He shows good command of his fastball, and in two innings of work, he struck out one batter and did not allow an earned run. With three more years of growth and development, Thomas has great potential to refine his skills and continue progressing as both a pitcher and position player.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
