07/19/2008 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Thomas is a smaller player, but he has a ton of ability. Behind the plate, Thomas has a strong arm and a quick release as his sub 2-second pop time indicates. He receives the ball with a quiet body and he centers the ball when blocking balls in the dirt. Everything works well defensively. At the plate, Thomas has bat speed and power. He drives the ball anywhere on the field. He centers the ball and can flat out rake. He can play and as he fills out, he should only get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
