09/19/2021 - All-In Membership - Wilmington, DE Thomas is a tall 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Thomas moves well to his glove side and makes the routine plays. He make consistent throws on double plays and provides a big target for his infielders. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Thomas field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and takes an aggressive hack, driving the ball to his pull side. Thomas can create more consistent contact by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. On the mound, Thomas gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with a controlled landing. Thomas operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball sits from 59-62mph with 9-3 break. Splitter sits from 65-67mph. Extending through his release can help Thomas improve his pitch command and velocity. Overall, Thomas is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
