08/29/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Baltimore, MD Thomas is an athletic 1B/LHP who showed as a prospect at the All Ripken Games. At first base, he moves smoothly with fluid actions, showing excellent footwork around the bag and reliable receiving skills. His range is expected to improve as he enhances his foot quickness. At the plate, he displays a squared setup with strong hands working through a level swing path, delivering power with strength in his swing. On the mound, his fastball ranges between 61-64 mph, while his breaking ball sits at 48-50 mph with a 2/8 shape. As he continues to build velocity by strengthening his arm through a long toss program and refining his off-speed pitches, his stock on the mound will rise. With significant potential for growth, Thomas has a bright future ahead and plenty of upside in the game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
