09/30/2020 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Thrasher is an athletic RHP/3B prospect who showed well during the Arizona Fall Classic. On the mound, Thrasher gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and accelerates through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Thrasher shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 86mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 78-79mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 78-81mph with cutting action. In the field, Thrasher gets into position on time and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry across the diamond. At the plate, Thrasher shows great raw power from the right side. His hips and hands work well together as he drives the ball with authority (93mph exit velo). Overall, Thrasher is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

02/02/2020 - College PREP - Mobile, AL Thrasher is a tall RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Thrasher gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Thrasher shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 74-75mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 76-77mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Continuing to work on his off-speed can help Thrasher improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He shows smooth rhythm and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with good extension through the ball, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Thrasher can improve as a hitter by working more of a load into his swing. Overall, Thrasher is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Thrashes is a tall RHP/C prospect who showed well at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. On the mound, Thrasher starts with a simple rock step and gathers to a balance point over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and works with a clean arm, staying inline towards the plate. Thrasher shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph with late arm side run. Changeup sits at 64mph with arm side run and sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Behind the plate, Thrasher presents a good target to the pitcher and tracks the ball into his glove well. He throws with a short arm action and keeps his throws on the 2B bag. He is efficient moving to block and takes good angles. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and gets into a simple load. He takes a level swing and rotates his core well, leading to solid contact to all fields. With three more years to develop, Thrasher has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/03/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Pensacola, FL Thrasher is a talented, 2-way player as a C/RHP. Defensively behind the plate, he sits in an athletic stance and presents a low target. He moves quickly to block and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He delivers from a 3/4 arm slot with free arm action and pounds the zone with strikes. As a hitter, Thrasher has fluid rhythm to load with balance. He swings on a direct path through the zone and drives pitches from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
