06/09/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Tim is a prospect on the mound. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Fastball showed a range of 85-88 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for the pitch. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Tim will get looks from pro scouts with his upside on the mound.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Tim is a projectable RHP prospect who showed well at the UAAAPS Tournament. On the mound, Tim works downhill with a quick arm action. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 83mph with good arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 71-73mph with sharp 11-5 break. Changeup ranges from 75-77mph as he throws with FB arm speed. Tim showed great command of his pitches during his outing, striking out 11 batters. Tim is a talented prospect who has the skills that will translate to the next level.

11/04/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Tim is a RHP with a solid 6'3", 180-pound frame. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot that, combined with his height, gives him good downhill plane. He is one of the few young pitchers that can get by almost exclusively with one pitch. His fastball has hard, heavy sink to it and is extremely effective. He ran it up to 88 mph and got lots of weak ground ball contact throughout his outing. He complemented his fastball with an occasional breaking pitch that had 3/4 tilt and worked as a change of speeds for him. There is a lot of upside in this RHP, and it will be interesting to watch Tim develop as he refines his off-speed offerings to match his excellent sinker.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
