01/13/2023 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (HS) TJ is a 2024 1B/RHP prospect out of Venetia, PA with good size. He was ready to go from the jump. He displayed good hands at first and does a good job picking it. Very fundamentally sound in the field. His feet are active and he does a great job fielding out in front. Creates momentum towards his target with his throws and makes accurate throws. Makes all the routine plays. At the plate, he is on time and makes hard, consistent contact. His stride is controlled and his swing is on-plane. His hips and hands are coordinated and he hits line drives. Can be a little stiff and gets caught jumping a little bit, but overall displayed impressive pop and a good approach. On the mound, he is aggressive with the FB and has good feel for the breaking ball. CH has natural sink and he can afford to throw it more. Works downhill and holds runners well. Needs to get a little more out of his lower half. TJ had a great camp and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.

12/27/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Russellton, PA TJ is a 1B/RHP in the 2024 class. In the field, he has active feet and covers his defensive zone well. He gains a low and athletic fielding position and has soft hands. Chooses his hop well and gains a high ¾ release for accurate feeds. On the mound, he uses a 3-pitch mix from a high ¾ slot. His FB sat 65-70 with sink. His CB ranged 59-61 with 10-4 shape and early break. His CH sat 61-5 and was in the zone. In the box, he creates solid contact. Begins in a crouched stance and has a short stride. Loads his body well and his timing is smooth. Hits off a firm front side and is direct to the baseball. Shows he can hit to all fields with more production to the pull side. Overall, TJ is a solid player and with some adjustments can turn into a fine 2024 prospect.

11/13/2022 - All-In Membership - Pittsburgh, PA TJ is a 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. At 1B, he starts with fluid feet and a good prep step. Takes aggressive angles to baseball, with ability to pick out hops, and fields from an athletic fielding position. A short arm stroke into a high 3/4 release point, with ability to turn glove side, and an arm velocity on his throws to second base up to 74mph. Showed good footwork around the bag. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. Works with good tempo and keeps his eyes on target throughout delivery. Throws a FB that sits 69-71mph with plus command, a 12/6 shaped curve ball that he throws with good arm speed, and a changeup with good depth in zone that he throws with FB arm speed. CH was best pitch during his bullpen. A right-handed hitter, he starts with a crouched and even stance. Showed a direct barrel path as he sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee TJ having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
