01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Bean is an athletic OF who made several improvements to his game during his time at Pirate City. Foot speed has improved as he now runs his 60 in 7.22. Offensively, this righty shows a square setup with centered balance while remaining patient and letting the ball travel into the zone. He has good zone awareness and doesn't swing at much that he cannot handle (drew 2 walks at the event). Getting loaded sooner along with swinging on a more direct path will help to increase power at the plate. In the OF, Tracy creates good angles and works behind the fly-ball well. He secures the ball and works through it well - in-line toward his target. Continuing to strengthen his arm will aid in his defensive development. Bean is a coachable player who hustles all over the diamond.

11/29/2015 - College PREP - Davie, FL Bean has a well proportioned frame at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, and posted 7.38 in the 60 yard dash. In the outfield, he did a good job of coming to get the ball. He can work to get his fingers more behind the ball on his throws, and to continue his move towards the target to generate momentum that will help improve the life on his throws. As an infielder, he got in front of the ball and used his hands to play the ball. He can work to move his feet more, both pre-pitch and through the play, but he seems to see the ball well off the bat. At the plate, he stood in well and did a good job of rotating fully through his stroke. He got a little long with his route, and at times seemed to let go early with his top hand. Can work to stay more connected and to shorten up his stroke. Overall, has room for continued development of skill and physical strength.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
