01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Travis continues to show as a prospect at the Preseason Rookie All American showcase. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He starts in an athletic ready position and fields in a square position. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, he shows a 2-pitch mix, keeping hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 62-65 mph with sink. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a good mound presence and is composed on the mound. With 4 years to further develop, Travis has potential with time and room to progress his game.

11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition Travis is a 2028 grad with lots of upside. Travis is an athletic shortstop with a good first step and soft sure hands. A natural defender Travis moves well to his back hand and does an excellent job turning double plays showing quick feet/hands. As a hitter, Travis shows a compact swing and consistent barrel contact. Stays on the ball well with his front side and shows rhythm in his swing and some hand quickness. As he continues to fill out and get stronger, we would like to see Travis "stay through" the ball longer focusing on gap-to-gap line drives. On the mound Travis shows a loose arm with good feel for 3 pitches. Needs to make sure he gets out over front leg and finishes all his pitches. Shows good feel for both 12 to 6 and change-up that has some sink to it. Overall, Travis is definitely a young player to keep on eye on. Plus make-up and already is showing some tools that will make him an excellent player in HS and beyond.

09/17/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Travis is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2028. Travis has showed marked improvement in all areas of his game. At SS he shows good actions and closes distance on batted balls. Creates good fielding angles and fields with his hands out front. He made accurate throws to first base with an arm velocity up to 67mph. On the mound he works exclusively from the stretch and has some deception to his delivery. Gets good extension out front and lands square to his target. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 62-64mph with plus command. He mixes in 12/6 shaped breaking ball and a developing changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate he hits from an upright and open stance. Shows good awareness of the strike zone and has a middle of the field approach. During his round of BP he displayed ability to deliver the barrel as he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph. With 5 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Travis making huge strides on the baseball field.

03/05/2023 - National Showcase - Tomball (Houston), TX Travis is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2028. A young/developing player with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At SS, he works to center the baseball and plays with good effort/energy. Works into a low fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and hands out front. Made accurate/on-line throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 66mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and has level eyes. He has a simple and repeatable delivery. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 56-580mph with some sink, a breaking ball with 11/5 shape, and a developing changeup. CB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. A simple setup to start and takes an aggressive swing. Keeps bat flat in the zone for a long time and stays inside the ball. During his round of BP, he hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 61mph. With 5 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
