06/06/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Treet continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. He is a pure catch and throw backstop who also will make an impact with the bat. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (91 mph) with impressive pop times of 1.91. Offensively, he continues to shine as a switch hitter but projects as a LHH. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage - resulting in a barrel explosion (89 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. Treet has the makings of a special type player.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament As we have become accustomed to - Treet had a very good showing at the UAAAPS Tournament in Arizona. The switch-hitting catcher went 3 for 6 in game play with line drives to all fields. His stroke is solid from both sides of the plate and he can handle velocity as well as off-speed stuff. Behind the plate Treet showed his advanced receiving skills and an extremely accurate arm to 2B. Treet once again performed well in both workouts and games - he has a bright future.

11/05/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Treet continues to get better each time we see him, and he had an excellent performance at the UABF Futures Texas event. He did an outstanding job of handling quality pitchers with velocity as he sits low and receives with sure and strong hands. He was also very good on balls in the dirt and thew down to 2B as low as 1.98 in the workout. At the plate Treet swung the bat well from both sides of the plate showing a little more power from the left side. His approach is simple and repeatable with a clean stroke and lots of line drives off the barrel. He carried over a good BP into some quality game at bats. Treat fits a unique profile as a switch-hitting catcher who has the leadership skills and physical ability to catch at the next level.

06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Treet is a young, exciting backstop who excels both at the plate and behind it. He shows great energy behind the plate, working hard to block and receive. He does a good job of gaining ground on the pitch to buy extra strikes and has a clean exchange to unleash his good arm to second. At the plate, Treet is a switch hitter who has natural instinct from both sides. He does a good job of engaging his lower half to generate power from his level path. His quick hands and good bat speed generate good pop to all fields. This is an exciting player to watch and has the upside to continue to improve.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Treet showed very well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament going 3 for 6 with a pair of doubles and a single in his ABs. Offensively, this lefty used the entire field with his approach and stayed inside contact nicely to hit the ball hard with good extension. He was direct down through the zone and was consistently on-time delivering the barrel with plus accuracy. Defensively behind the dish, he had a solid stance and received with sure hands. He worked well laterally to block and deadened the ball in front. His in game management was advanced and he had sharp feet to throw with consistent 2.0 pops. In all - Treet is a very intriguing LHH catching prospect that has a lot of time to continue developing and strengthening his already advanced skill set.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Treet is a hard-nosed catcher that leads by example on the field. Behind the plate he has quick feet, tracks the ball well, and receives with soft hands. He moves well laterally and keeps the ball in front when blocking. He has a quick exchange and he makes accurate throws with good carry. At the plate Treet is a switch hitter that has a consistent swing from both sides of the plate. He has a good load, strong balance, and he uses his lower half well. He has an advanced approach at the plate and he can spray the ball to all fields with power.

06/16/2014 - College PREP - Houston, TX Treet is a switch hitting C/3B with good ability and an athletic frame. Offensively, he hits with similar actions from both sides of the dish with fluidity, balance and barrel accuracy. He is more natural from the left side, but has the ability to drive the ball from the right as well. Behind the dish, he flashed pops in the 2.1 range and was consistent with his efficient footwork. He received in front with sure hands and had a clean exchange. He was quick to block and worked good angles to deaden the ball in front. At the hot corner, he worked to the ball with good timing, efficient feet and body control. He was soft to field and threw with carry. In all - Treet is a very promising player that will be jumping onto radars across the country as an elite prospect in the freshman class (2018 grad).

11/15/2012 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City While at Pirate City Treet displayed a lot of physical ability as well as great intangibles. Behind the plate he has a good set up, good energy, soft hands and good body control. Also, Treet's receiving and blocking are very advanced for his age. He can be a little too narrow at times and he needs to tuck his chin (blocking)/track the ball and keep his feet square. At the plate he is very controlled, he tracks the ball well, has good rhythm, he gets good extension through the ball and he uses the entire field. He needs to be softer on his front side, keep his hips from drifting forward and be more direct to the ball. At Pirate City, Treet showed the athletic ability and character to be a standout player in the future.

06/19/2012 - Interactive Video Program - Houston, TX Treet is a solid, athletic C / 3B with average size. Behind the plate, Treet has soft hands, fluid feet, and good lateral movements to block. He is fundamentally sound, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and carry to 2nd base. At 3B, Treet has fluid feet, sure hands, and he surround the ball well. He makes plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws with carry and consistency across the diamond. At the plate, Treet is equally as good from both sides of the plate. He has a square / athletic set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He swings in good rhythm, has a line drive approach, and he uses his lower 1/2. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Long toss
Defense
1. Glove down sooner
2. DP feeds
Offense
1. Level off swing
2. Stride

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
