01/18/2013 - Arizona National Spring Training Hove continues to show improves in his baseball abilities and projects better in the OF for the next level. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 6.94. Feet are quick / active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work on getting behind more to play through with momentum to his target to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate with life in his arm but will benefit by getting on a long toss program to continue to build more arm strength. At the plate, power numbers have improved as he shows a feel for the barrel and uses his lower half well. Hands work through a short / direct path and stays through the ball well. At the event, he was 2 for 7 with a 2B and inside the park HR. Once on base, he utilizes his quick feet to put pressure on defenses, displaying plus instincts. On the mound, fast ball showed a range of 69-70 mph with an average breaking ball. Stock on the mound will rise as more arm strength is gained. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard.
