05/23/2010 - College PREP - Phoenix, AZ Trevor is a two-way player as a catcher plus on the mound with a solid, strong looking body. Currently, he projects best as a catcher for the next level. Feet are active in working in line as he displays accuracy on his throws. Pop times show a range of 2.30-2.49 as he will benefit by getting on a long toss program. Receiving and blocking skills are average, needing further development to be quality tools at the next level. Offensively is where Barker shows the best as he loads well, displaying rhythm through balanced approach. Hands are quick, generating bat speed as he works to stay inside the baseball, utilizing all fields. He shows a plus feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off his bat when centered. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-75 mph from an inconsistent release point. Off speed pitches are average with command and control being an issue. Trevor has a lot of potential at the plate and may be suited for another position, possibly 1B for the next level.
