12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Trey continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities have improved, now showing outstanding skills as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate and he throws from multiple arm angles but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the baseball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 6. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.

12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Haley is a hardworking, coachable player and who made good adjustments at the event. At SS, he is aggressive and displays sound fundamentals. Hands / feet work well together as he makes the routine plays and he presents glove well out front. At the plate, he displays an athletic setup with active hands. He tracks the ball and has good strike zone awareness. Trey consistently puts the ball in play hitting the ball where it's pitched and utilizing all parts of the field. More extension through contact will help to increase power. On the mound, he gets good glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. Fastball showed in the high 60 range on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He shows good mound composure and attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. More extension on his finish will help to improve effectiveness. Trey (2019 grad) still has a ton of time to develop to get to where he wants to be.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Trey is a young two way player who competes at 3B and as a RHP. Defensively, Trey gets ready well, works through the ball well, attacks the ball and flashes a good arm. Trey is sometimes late with his glove and gets caught on his heels at times. On the mound, Trey shows good mechanics, driving his backside through well, he works fast, has a fluid delivery and keeps his eyes down on his target. Focusing on lengthening his arm action on the backside and keeping his shoulders squared to his target will help him improve when pitching. In the box, Trey has a nice compact and simple swing who stays well balanced and sprays the ball to all fields. With lots of potential and a hardworking competitive mentality, Trey will continue to improve and lead teammates by example.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Trey is a talented two way player that plays 3B and also pitches. In the infield he has sure hands, quick feet, and fields the ball out front. He works through the ball and makes accurate throws across the diamond. At the plate he showed a disciplined approach with a good load, strong balance, and he used his lower half well. On the mound Trey pounds the zone with his fastball and showed good deception. He has a nice curve with good late break giving him a solid 2 pitch mix that allows him to keep hitters off balance.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at the Yankees Training Complex (Ages 12-14) Trey is a very coachable young man who genuinely wants get better. As an infielder he showed good pre-pitch readiness, fields out front, and has good feel for his position. He needs to keep weight off of heels, work on the backhand, and long toss for arm strength. On the mound Trey displayed good presence, competes hard, and made adjustments on the fly. He can improve by lengthening the stride, using more lower half, and finish with his chest out over the front side. At the plate Trey has a quiet/smooth load, good balance, and he uses the entire field. He also showed good barrel accuracy and power but he needs to improve posture and pitch recognition.

11/14/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Trey is a solid two-way player that is a 3B/RHP. Defensively, he showed a good approach with proper angles to the ball reaching a square fielding position out in front. Trey can work on better body control and shortening his arm action in the infield. On the mound, Trey shows a quick tempo with good control of the zone. He mixes his off-speed well keeping hitters off balance. Trey can work on reaching a controlled balance point and improve his extension making sure he finishes his pitches. At the plate Trey showed good bat speed and a middle approach. During his game at bats he had 5 singles showing a direct bat path and good hand action. He will need to focus on staying centered through his swing to develop more power. Overall, Trey is a consistent player who shows potential to compete at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
