08/13/2011 - College PREP - Gaffney, SC Trey is a thick, broad two-way player behind the plate and on the mound that will graduate in 2012. Foot speed is below average as he needs to get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active and working in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times show a range of 2.11-2.22 with accuracy and on line carry to his target. Receiving and blocking skills show potential as being quality tools that will play well at the next level. Offensively, Harris shows a balanced approach and uses his lower half well through the swing. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to load more and transfer weight properly through the swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 79-82 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin. Changeup shows a arm side run but slows arm speed, tipping off pitch to hitters. He throws strikes with his fastball and changeup but needs more command of the breaking ball. Trey has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the college coaches as he continues to improve.
