04/05/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach, SC Trey had an impressive showing for the Freedom team at the PreSeason All-Ripken Games. His baseball instincts stood out in all that did, and are a great fit at the catching position where he can have such a positive impact on the game. He receives well behind the dish, is athletic, and is very good blocking balls in the dirt. He loves to play and that attitude spills over to his teammates. At the plate Trey has a line drive stroke and uses the whole field well. When he keeps his swing short and compact he finds the barrel well, and a better 2-strike approach will help to put the ball in play more where he can do some damage. His instincts show up on the bases as well where he is a threat to steal every time he is on. Trey jumped on the mound as well and went right after hitters with a fastball/curveball mix. He has smooth mechanics and good tempo to his delivery. Not getting too up or down on the mound will continue to help him throughout the outing. Overall, Trey is a gamer with a lot of potential thanks to solid skills and his advanced understanding of the game.
