02/16/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Highland Park (DFW), TX Tristano showed offensive upgrades defensive improvements, and topped out at 66 MPH on the mound during his last workout with The Factory. At 1B, Tristano has fluid footwork, agile range, and a soft/presentable glove. He creates a good fielding angle, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with momentum and accuracy from a short arm action through his target. On the mound, Tristano has a balanced/repeatable delivery, he separates his hands on time, and he has good direction toward home plate. He has a controlled landing, he uses his lower body, and competes in the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Tristano has good balance, fast bat speed, and he works the ball well gap to gap. He swings on plane, finds the barrel, and he uses his lower 1/2.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Tristano continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth, clean actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. He works to square ground balls up, displaying clean hands as he makes the routine plays. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 60-61 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with cutting action. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

04/07/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Plano (DFW), TX Tristano is a 2-way player who plays 1B and LHP. Defensively, Tristano has efficient footwork, soft/presentable hands, and he moves well around the bag. He fields athletically in a square position, his exchange is clean, and throws with carry and accuracy from a long arm action to his target. On the mound, Tristano has good balance, a clean arm circle, and gets good extension on his pitches. He lands with good direction toward home, and is around the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Tristano has a tall set-up, good balance, and swings in good rhythm. He has a direct barrel, works the ball gap to gap, and hits with a firm lower body. Overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
