11/12/2023 - National Showcase - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Tristen continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. At the plate, he showed as a RHH, now displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a squared setup. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing to the ball which leads to hard contact (81 mph exit velocity) with gap-to-gap pop. At 1B, he shows active footwork and presents his glove out front to field. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag, and he is a quality receiver. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He slows his arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/18/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Fall Prospects Tournament (HS) Tristen is a class of 2024 1B/RHP. In the field, he showed solid fielding mechanics and worked through the baseball. Had good throws across the diamond. Arm velo needs some improvement that could come with the help of a long toss program. At the plate, he hit from a tall stance. Did a good job hitting into a firm front side and showed feel for the barrel. On the mound, he did a good job finding a consistent balance point. Tried to engage his lower 1/2 in his delivery. Showed some feel for his pitches. Fastball worked up to 71 MPH. He shows off a large frame that could benefit by getting in the weight room to add athleticism. Tristen is a good kid that needs to continue his development. We hope to see him again soon.

08/07/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jacinto, CA Tristen is a 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame thick build with strength present and room to add throughout. At 1B, he starts with efficient footwork as he works to center ball and showed good lateral range. Tries to pick out hops and keeps ball in front of him. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity on his throws to second base up to 79mph. On the mound, he showed good command on all of his pitches and keeps the ball down. Throws a FB that sits 74-76mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth, and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. A switch hitter, he starts with an athletic and open stance from both sides of the plate. Shows natural strength in swing and is centered at contact. A flat barrel path enables him to hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 88mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Tristen having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

01/23/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Tristen is a two-player in the 2024 class. As RHP he shows some qualities that have potential to be improved upon and grow to become a well-rounded pitcher. Currently he has a FB with some life that sits in the low 70s and curve ball with some 11-5 shape. His frame will continue to fill out as it continues to grow and he gains better body awareness. That will help create a big jump in the velocity as a whole. The frame coupled with his ability to have a controlled tempo in his delivery, throw strikes, and work efficiently will help him see quick improvements on the mound. On the field, he shows a good back hand and makes all the routine plays. Tristen has good bag awareness and presents a good target to those throwing across the diamond. Furthermore at the plate, he displays a good smooth swing and potential pop with an 81 mph exit velocity. With 2 1/2 years to develop he has time to build upon his skills.

11/10/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Wildomar (Los Angeles), CA Tristen worked out on the mound and at 3rd during his last workout with The Factory. Defensively, Tristen covers ground well, centers properly, and fields athletically in a square position. He has good glove extension, a clean exchange, and he throws with consistency from a long arm action across the diamond. On the mound, Tristen has good balance over the rubber, he separates his hands on time, and lands with good direction toward home plate. He has an athletic delivery and competes in the zone. At the plate, Tristen is a stronger hitter from the right side. He has a square stance, fast bat speed, and he gets good extension through the ball.

07/12/2019 - Interactive Video Program - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Tristen worked out behind the plate and at 1B during his last workout with The Factory. He is an athletic catcher with a bright future. Behind the plate, Tristen has active feet, soft hands, and he sits in athletically. He blocks and receives well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.63 seconds. At 1B, Tristen has a presentable glove and efficient footwork. He fields with confidence, and throws with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Tristen has an open stance, he loads well, and makes consistent contact. He swings in good rhythm and hits line drives. Tristen can continue to improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Setup
2. Blocking
Infield
1. Range
2. Fielding position
Offense
1. Level off swing
2. Lower body

03/03/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Newbury Park, CA Tristen worked out at 1B and in the OF during his last workout with The Factory. At 1B, Tristen has a good first step, efficient footwork, and presentable hands. He moves well to the ball, keeps it in front of his body, and he throws with consistency from a short arm action to his target. In the OF, Tristen reads the ball well off the bat, he fields squarely, and gains ground when throwing toward his cut off man. Offensively, Tristen has a tall set-up, he loads well, and has good feel for the barrel. He can hit to all fields, finds the barrel, and he uses his lower body.

11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Tristen continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Tristen is a 1B/OF who will graduate in 2024. Defensively at 1B, he stays low when fielding GB's. He works well around the bag and plays through the ball towards his target. In the OF, he hustles hard laterally as he tracks down fly balls. He has a clean transfer and makes accurate throws to his target. At the plate, Tristen gets back into a solid load. He takes aggressive hacks through the zone and looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Quick footwork
2. Develop soft hands
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Outfield
1. Quick 1st step

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
