07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Troy is a 2027 C/RHP prospect who recently showcased his skills at the National World Series at the JRTC. Behind the dish, he is a true leader on the field who communicates well with his teammates. He does a great job of getting in a low position and giving his pitcher a good target. He tracks the ball well and shows off soft hands when receiving. His actions are easy and he moves really well to the glove side. He keeps his thumb under the baseball. He has a clean exchange and does a great job of replacing his feet on throws. He has a loose, clean arm action and creates momentum on his throws to his targets. He recorded a best pop time of 2.53 seconds. He takes good angles to the baseball when blocking and squares himself up to balls in the dirt. He showed off a solid arm, recording a raw velo of 74 MPH. At the plate, he starts in a squared, athletic stance with high, loose hands and a small load. He does a good job of rotating his core and works hard to get his lower half more involved. He works the ball to the middle of the field. In game action, he reached base in 5 of 7 plate appearances with a double, single, and three walks. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 slot and has a confident setup pre-pitch. He has a simple starter step and gets good extension with his front side while showing off a clean arm action. He works quick and works hard on getting downhill. He ran his FB up to 66 MPH and showed some late life with the pitch. He works hard to stay on top of his SL and CH. In game action, he struck out 2 in 2 innings and allowed 2 hits. Overall, Troy is an exciting prospect that we will definitely keep an eye on as he continues to develop his baseball skills!
