Behind the plate, Troy has firm hands, active feet, and he looks the ball into his glove well. He keeps the ball in front when blocking, he is quick to his feet, and his exchange is quick and clean. Troy has a short / loose arm action, and he throws with consistency to his target. Catching skills can improve if Troy can work on his blocking, and add arm strength. At 1st base, Troy has quick feet, soft hands, and good lateral movements. He works around the bag well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with decent accuracy to his target. Playing more through the ball and using his legs to throw can help improve defensive skills. At the plate, Troy has a tall / square set-up, a short / square stride, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, he makes hard contact, and he has pop to the pull side. Improved rhythm / timing and more lower 1/2 will help raise offensive numbers.
