01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Turner is a 2028 3B/RHP prospect out of Arlington, VA with a tall frame that recently showcased his skills at the Rookie Pre-Season All-American Tournament. In the field, he does a good job pre-pitch of getting in a ready position and shows off efficient movements to the baseball. He squares the ball up and presents his hands out in front when fielding. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws to his target from multiple arm slots. He gets rid of the ball quickly and creates momentum to his targets. At the plate, he starts in a closed stance and has a small, simple load with a squared stride. He works hard to get his lower half through the baseball and stay direct to the baseball. He does a nice job of rotating his core and maintaining coordination with his hips and hands. He projects as a line drive hitter and recorded a max exit velo of 75 MPH. He reached base in 2 of 7 plate appearances with 2 walks. On the mound, he has a good presence and features a 2-pitch mix. He does well to gather his balance over the rubber with a relaxed knee lift and his glove centered on his body. He keeps his eyes on his target when driving to the plate and gets on-time separation. He keeps his shoulders in-line to his target and gets a proper stride length with a controlled landing. His CB has big break and does a nice job of wrapping it on the backside. He struck out 3 in 2 innings of game action and allowed only one hit. Overall, Turner is an exciting prospect that we're looking forward to seeing more of as he continues to get stronger and develop!
