05/19/2013 - College PREP - Severn (Baltimore), MD Ty is a thin, OF who will graduate in 2015. Defensively, Ty has sure hands, quick feet, and he fields in an athletic position. He is aggressive to the ball, his exchange is clean, and he delivers the ball with a short / loose arm to his target. Defense can improve if Ty can loosen his actions and throw on a downhill plane. Offensively, Ty has a tall set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He will need to avoid spinning off the ball, work on his load and stride, and quicken his bat speed in order for offense to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
