Official Scouting Report

  • OFPosition Projection

06/10/2021 - All-In Membership - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA Tyler is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the OF, Tyler shows fluid footwork and uses his plus speed to cover ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and works through a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to strong line drives to all fields. Overall, Tyler is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

10/24/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - So Cal (HS) Tyler continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities are now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing (82 mph exit velocity), stays inside the ball and utilizes all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 7 with a HR and 2 RBI. In the OF, he continues to shine as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground with his foot quickness (6.71 60 time). Throws are accurate will on line carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break and shows as a quality pitch that will get outs. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Tyler has high energy and makes a team better by the way he plays the game as he is a gamer.

09/13/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Tyler is an athletic OF who has a tremendous future on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way (6.71 60 time). He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. Throws are accurate with on line zip (87 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving (84 mph exit velocity) to all parts of the field. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
