07/23/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Tyler continues to shine with his baseball abilities on the diamond. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.25 range with accuracy / carry (84 mph velocity) on his throws. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential is solid through a squared setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip.

04/24/2022 - All-In Membership - Binghamton, NY Tyler showed solid defensive skills behind the plate and raised arm velocity during his last workout in Binghamton. Pop times also lowered to 2.13 seconds. Behind the plate, Tyler has active feet, a presentable glove, and he sits in low. He is a confident receiver, blocks and receives very well, and he throws with a short/accurate arm with strength to 2nd base. At SS, Tyler has good range, active feet, and he fields squarely. He makes plays, moves from right to left, and throws accurately across the diamond. At the plate, Tyler has an open stance, a square stride, and good balance. He swings with good intent, uses some lower body, and can spray to all fields. Tyler will need to add bat speed, sharpen barrel accuracy, and loosen his grip in order for hitting numbers to spike.

04/18/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Marlborough (Boston), MA Tyler is a 2024 C/SS. Medium frame athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. Secondary catcher, active feet behind dish and ability to track pitches. Good direction towards second base who gains momentum on his throws. Arm velocity of 75mph and a pop time of 2.3. Tries to create good blocking angles and has a soft chest. Secondary SS, starts with a good pre-pitch routine and tries to create good angles. Showed ability to make routine plays during his workout. Clean transfer into a high 3/4 slot with online throws across diamond. Left-handed hitter hits from an upright and open stance. Short stride into a balanced stance at contact point. Showed some late bat whip with pull side pop and a bat exit velocity of 71mph. 4 years of continued growth and development will bode well for his opportunities at the high school level and beyond.

08/10/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Geneva, NY Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body during the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are loose and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. 11/15/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Tyler is an athletic 2024 catching prospect that was very respectful and worked hard all weekend. Behind the dish, Tyler works behind the ball and sees the ball into his glove when receiving. He needs to continue to be in a balanced primary and athletic secondary stance. Leading with his glove and being in a solid foundation with his lower half when blocking will allow him to control balls in the dirt consistently. Improving his hip mobility and anticipating balls in the dirt will improve his ability to block laterally. He needs to continue to exchange the ball in front of his body and create momentum in his lower half when throwing to the bases. At the plate, Tyler starts in a closed stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays balanced through contact. He rotates his back hip to initiate the swing and he keeps a level path to the ball. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, keep his head down at contact, and stay in his legs. Tyler did a good job in games and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/01/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Binghamton, NY Tyler is a young, 2-way player who hits from the left side. At SS, Tyler has efficient footwork to the ball, hands are firm, and he has good glove extension to the ball. He covers ground well, has a clean exchange, and throws with consistency from a short arm action to his target. Behind the plate, Tyler has good flexion, he looks the ball into his glove, and uses his body to block. He has soft hands, good direction when throwing, and he delivers the ball with some accuracy to 2nd base. Offensively, Tyler has a tall/open stance, a still head, and he swings aggressively. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
