Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Tyler is a 2026 SS/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At SS, starts in a relaxed ready position, with efficient feet, and works behind the baseball. Closes distance on batted balls and fields out front. He gets rid of ball and keeps working towards his target. Throws from a high 3/4 release point with an arm velocity up to 82mph. On the mound, he starts with a small rocker step and separates his hands on-time. A 2-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 75mph with some arm side run, and a 10/4 shaped breaking ball with sweeping action. In 3 innings of work, he punched out 3 hitters and didn't allow a hit. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and crouched stance with high hands. A lower half driven swing who takes an aggressive hack. Hit balls hard to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 87mph during BP. In live game action, he reached base 4 times with 2 doubles, and 2 singles. Overall, Tyler is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/27/2022 - All-In Membership - Russellton, PA Tyler is an outstanding 3B/RHP in the 2026 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions between the lines. In the field, he has active feet (7.41 runner) and gains ground to the baseball quickly. He fields in a low, athletic and squared fielding position. He uses short arm action from a high release to generate power (82 velo) on his throws. Feeds have a high accuracy rate to his targets. In the box, he creates consistent contact and can drive the baseball to the alleys with power (87 exit velo). Has above average hand-eye coordination and stays inside his feet well. Working to shorten his bat path will help as he sees advanced pitching. On the mound, he stays directional to his target and gets down the mound well. He operates with a 3 -pitch mix from a slot. His FB sat 75-7 with tailing actions. His CB/SL sat 64-7 with 9-3 action and late break. Working with grips to create differential on the two, will be a key point for him as he progresses on the mound. Overall, Tyler plays above grade and is a future star on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
