12/27/2009 - Christmas Camp and Tournament #2 Tyler is a long, lanky 2-way player that currently projects better at SS than on the mound. His arm and fielding both improved from 38 to 48 and 35 to 45 respectively. Tyler has good hands, feet and overall actions. He looks the ball into his glove and made some very nice plays in Pirate City. He has good athleticism and play skills and with quicker movements, and by fielding the ball out front in a lower position, he can get better defensively. On the mound, Tyler is currently an average varsity pitcher with a good frame, mound presence, and pitchability. He competes well, pitches to contact, and hides the ball well from the hitter. Tyler can improve on the mound by keeping his front shoulder closed and with better balance from the windup. At the plate, Tyler has a balanced approach and decent bat speed. He will need to track the baseball better and avoid diving to the ball in order to further improve offensively.
