01/21/2017 - College PREP - Omaha, NE Tyler is a lean, athletic SS/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as he shows quick, athletic feet. At the plate is where he shows best displaying outstanding hitting abilities with tremendous power potential. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He has strength and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he uses his lower half well, displaying gap to gap pop. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows quick, athletic actions. He uses his foot speed well in his lateral movements as he covers a lot of ground, creating range. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Arm strength is outstanding (85 mph velocity) with throws showing life, accuracy, and on line carry across the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Tyler has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball tools.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
