03/24/2024 - National Showcase - Gambrills, MD Tyler showed well at the event in Gambrills, MD. In the OF, feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he reads well of the bat. Glove action is clean and catches ball at highest point. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground, displaying range. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side.

He attacks groundballs and fields from a square fielding position. Has a clean gather off of his left foot as he creates momentum to his target. Made accurate throws through his cutoff man, with good carry on ball, and an arm velocity up to 78mph. A left-handed hitter he hits from an upright and closed stance. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
