11/10/2011 - Arizona Fall Select Training - 2011 Johnson is a lanky left-handed pitcher and spends some time at first base as well. In the infield, he has good pre-pitch movements and shows the ability to make accurate throws on the run, but needs to find a more athletic fielding position and focus on fielding the ball in front of his body. At the plate, he a square setup and stays inside the ball well allowing him to be quick to contact. His abilities at the plate should continue to develop as he learns to keep his front side closed. On the mound, he creates good extension and stays downhill to the dish, but needs to keep his head locked on the target throughout his delivery. This week in Arizona, Johnson displayed a great attitude and is very attentive to what's being said.
