06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Kelly continues to show well on the diamond. With the bat, this strong righty shows a balanced setup with fluid rhythm to load. Upper and lower 1/2 stay connected and he creates good torque and whips the barrel through the zone with speed. He connects with pop as the ball jumps off of his barrel (exit velocity = 88 mph). At 3B, Tyler has fluid actions working right to left. He makes the backhand play with effortless actions and fires it with zip across the diamond. A 2018 grad - Kelly is a talented 3B prospect who will turn some heads over the next couple of years.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kelly ran 6.88 in the 60 yard dash, and featured a well-rounded set of tools as a position player. His right-handed stroke was short and quick to contact, and was coordinated through the zone with speed and strength to allow for hard line drives from gap to gap. He kept a quiet head and showed very good natural feel for the barrel. In game at bats, he showed and aggressive approach with natural bat to ball skills to allow his speed to play. Defensively, he moved his feet well and played with good energy. His hands were solid and he showed good body control to complete a variety of plays. On the mound, he topped at 79 mph with his fastball and spun a low 60s breaking ball. He is much more interesting as a position player, where has the potential to fit a variety of profiles in the infield and potentially in the outfield as well.

07/22/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Tyler showed very well during his time at the UASW 16U Tournament. He is a gamer who brings his all to the field every day. Defensively, he has smooth actions working from right to left through the GB. He is sure handed and has a quick release. Tyler is an athlete who can play multiple positions in the INF. As a hitter, this righty steps into the box with a purpose. Swing is short/direct to and through the zone as he squares the ball up consistently. He battles at the plate and proved to be a tough out. Once on base - he's aggressive and isn't afraid to take the extra bag. On the mound, this RHP is a strike thrower who can eat up innings. He stays directional toward the plate and repeats his delivery well. He hits his spots and works the ball to both sides of the plate. Only a 2018 grad - Tyler is a talented 2-way player who has a ton of upside.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Tyler is a smooth, explosive corner infielder graduating in 2018. Defensively, he moves well with plus range to the right and left. He stays low; works from right to left, and showed an above average BH. At the plate, he hits from a square, soft stance with good balance/rhythm in his swing. He gets his hips through well with good drive with his backside. With Tyler's age and potential, he will get many looks from college coaches in the next couple years.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Tyler is an athletic SS that has a bright future in the game. In the infield Tyler has quick feet, fields with soft / sure hands, and works through the baseball well. He has the proper footwork with his approach and showed excellent body control. He has a quick exchange and makes accurate throws with good carry across the diamond. At the plate he has a smooth load, good balance, and a nice rhythm. He has great bat speed for his age and delivers the barrel with good accuracy. The ball jumps off of his bat and he showed lots of power in BP and games. With his bat and athleticism, Tyler will be fun to watch as he gets older.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
