03/21/2010 - College PREP - Carson, CA Tyler is a RHP with a large solid frame that shows projection as he continues to polish and firm up. He shows a solid mound presence, displaying sound mechanics through delivery that allows his arm action to work loose and free away from his body. Fastball shows a range of 79-83 mph with some run. Breaking ball is best off speed pitch displaying 10/4 shape with tight spin and sharp break. Changeup shows average feel with some running action. He needs to work to stay on top of the pitch. Command and control can be issues at times but he attacks the zone. Lara has potential on the mound and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
