09/05/2010 - College PREP - Azusa, CA Tyler is a two-way player in the OF plus on the mound with a tall, athletic frame that is well suited for his position and shows projection as he continues to physically mature, filling out. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is outstanding displaying proper mechanics that allows his arm action to work quickly and loosely to the plate. He shows good tempo and rhythm as he repeats his delivery. Fastball shows a range of 81-83 mph with arm side run on a downhill plane. Off speed pitches show potential as being quality out pitches at the next level. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with tight spin and late, sharp action. Changeup shows a solid feel for. He attacks hitters as he throws strikes with all his pitches, changing speeds well. In the OF, feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he works to get behind, playing through with momentum to his target. Offensively, Mitchell shows a balanced approach as he loads well with hands working inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Tyler has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his abilities on the mound and possibly could become a two-way player.
