01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Tyler continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his arm with impressive pop times of 2.05. Offensively, he continues to shine through an open setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel accuracy (83 mph exit velocity) through a line drive approach.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Tyler showed well at the Pre-Season Rookie All-American at 3B. At the hot corner, Tyler shows athletic movements as he works on the ball of his feet showing agile range to the glove and hand side. He fields the ball in an athletic position with his glove out in front with relaxed hands. He makes clean exchanges getting rid of the ball quickly delivering the ball with accuracy and life. At the dish, he sets up slightly open with loose hands and gets his foot down on time. Tyler gets the barrel on plane creating good hip/hand separation and shows a good gap to gap approach. Tyler showed he was a great on field competitor and has continued to improve and impress.

07/15/2019 - College PREP - Avon (Cleveland), OH Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He did show behind the plate as a catcher for the first time at time. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive has improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will improve as he continues to improve his foot quickness. Pop times showed a range of 2.17 -2.25 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing from the best to the pull side.

10/08/2018 - College PREP - Erie, PA Tyler is a lean, athletic 3B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic, crouched setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He utilizes his lower half well and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws display accuracy but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. With 5 years to further develop, Tyler has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
