12/19/2009 - Christmas Camp and Tournament #1 Tyler is a two-way player as a catcher and 1B with a strong, durable body that is well suited for his positions. As a catcher, his feet are active working in line to his target with throws that are also on line. Arm strength is currently average displaying some carry with pop times showing range of 2.30-2.45. He will benefit from a long toss program to help improve his velocity. His set up as a catcher is fundamentally sound and he showed some improvement in his blocking. Working on agility and flexibility will help with his footwork and exchanges. Offensively, Tyler shows an aggressive approach as he has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. He needs to work on developing more rhythm to his swing. Once those adjustments are made, Parrott has the make up to become a better player, especially at the plate, where he can tap into his power potential.
