01/29/2023 - National Showcase - Indianapolis, IN Tyler is a 2B who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame lean build, with broad shoulders, and strength present. At 2B, shows athletic actions, with active/efficient footwork, and plays with good effort. Closes distance on batted balls as he fields from a square fielding position with hands out front. Made on-line throws to first base from multiple arm slots with an arm velocity up to 85mph. Showed good touch on his DP feeds and pivots. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and open stance. Good rhythm to swing and is balanced at contact point. Showed a fast barrel through the hitting zone as he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph. With another year of development, we foresee Tyler having a bright future on the baseball field

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
