08/27/2023 - National Showcase - Kansas City, KS Tyler is an OF/RHP in the 2024 class. In the field, he plays with good energy. He covers his defensive zone well and gains a squared fielding position. Pocket has feel and does a good job of creating proper angles. Arm plays at 79 and working to throw downhill will decrease the chances of allowing the free 90 on the paths. On the mound, he keeps his eyes to the target and shows a strong balance point. Has a high 3qtr arm slot with a loose wrist action from the stretch. FB sat 74-5 with run. CB ranged 68-9 with 11-5 shape and medium break with tight spin. CH was 69 with FB arm speed. At the plate, he begins in a tall and open stance with a short stride. Had a solid load phase in his swing and uses the middle of the field well. Can use all fields and with work on his timing his contact and power rate will increase. Overall, solid two-way player in the 2024 class.

07/25/2022 - All-In Membership - Kansas City, MO Tyler is a RHP/OF prospect in the 2024 class. On the mound, he has good composure and clean mechanics. Has arm speed and can control the strike zone. His FB topped at 73 with sinking action. His CB sat 64-5 with 10/4 shape. His CH sat 65-70 and with a consistent arm speed, can be an effective pitch. In the field, he plays through the baseball and take the correct routes. Has good rhythm and controls his body well. Can redirect the ball back to the dirt with accuracy and on-line feeds. At the plate, he sees the ball well and has a middle of the field approach. He has a tall and open stance that generates consistent contact. Overall, Tyler has bright starting points to become a solid player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
