03/29/2009 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Tyler is a young two-way player at SS and on the mound with an average frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is average as indicated by his 5.23 40 time and needs to get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. He utilizes his athletic feet well in his lateral movement in the infield but needs to come get ground balls with his feet and hands. Glove action is deep allowing the baseball to dictate play. Feeds and turns of the double play are solid as he shows off his athletic ability. Defensive abilities are slightly above average. Arm strength is solid average showing a quick arm with life in it. He will benefit by getting on a strict long toss program to aid in further develop more arm strength and raise velocities. At the plate, hitting abilities are average with slightly above average power. He maintains balance and sits in well. Swing path is long but makes consistent contact showing a feel for the barrel to the pull side. On the mound, mechanics are solid average displaying a repeatable delivery. Fastball shows occasional sink through a long arm action. Changeup is best off speed pitch showing solid average with fading action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with loose spin and sweeping action. He shows a solid feel to pitch with stock rising as more arm strength is developed. With 2 years to further develop, Proctor has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
